1:1 Mentoring
They are growing up...
As your kids get older they naturally pull away from you. Many times the more you push them, the harder they push away. This is the perfect time to find a mentor you trust. By getting a mentor for your teen you can help preserve the relationship you have worked so hard to build through years of homeschooling.
But what is a mentor?
A mentor is someone who helps you figure out where you need to go and then helps you get there.
Notice I didn’t say ANYTHING about state standards in that last sentence!
That doesn’t mean the standards aren’t met. They are. But we start with the student.
BENEFITS OF MENTORING
Individualization. By looking at the personal goals the student has we can create a program that leads them to their goals while also meeting the needs of the school (standards).
Motivation. When teens see how their course work is helping them reach their goals their motivation soars!
Accountability. When mom and dad are checking up on you it is nagging. When you sit down with your mentor and evaluate your progress, you are working together to find what worked and what didn’t and making plans for success.

Hi! I’m Heidi Christianson. I’ve worn many hats over the years. I’m a homeschool mom to my five boys, a credentialed teacher, a public speaker, and a small business owner. I’ve taught at a university, community college, private school, and charter. I’ve mentored hundreds of people over the years – teens and adults.
