WORLD HISTORY/GEOGRAPHY - Eras, Epics, and Empires
I see the study of history as a “self-help” course. We look at the good, the bad, and the ugly things that have happened in the past and see how we can learn from them. In Eras, Epics, and Empires we will be using a documentary series that is available on YouTube as our “spine” as well as the Kingfisher World History Encyclopedia. We will then add document studies, simulations, and activities. Individualized projects will allow students to share what they have learned.
MEETING TIMES: Mondays, 12:30-1:55 pm

MEET YOUR TEACHER - Heidi Christianson
Heidi Christianson has a diverse background in education. She has her California teaching credential and has taught in the university, community college, private school, and charter school environments. She has also been homeschooling her five sons for two decades. Her quest to personalize her own children’s education has led her on a journey that has included helping found her local Liber Community (a homeschool co-op), writing her own curriculum, public speaking (CHN Family Expo, Great Homeschool Convention, Back to Basics Forum), and putting on several conferences (Realizing Genius Homeschool).
